Happy New Year!!

God has been good this past year.  I am looking forward to what he is going to do in 2012.  It has been a good week.  Saturday I was given the chance to teach men's prayer breakfast.  We are going through the ABC's of Christian Growth, put out by Bible Baptist Church Publications.  Written by Robert J. Sargent.  This months lesson was on the Enemy (Satan). It isn't always easy to teach about satan or hell, but is so important that we do.  We started out going over the existence of satan.  How he tempted Christ in Matt. 4:1-11.  From there we studied this origin, the sin he committed, where he is now.  There are so many people who have the thought that satan is in hell ruling as the king.  We picture him in a little red suit with horns and a pitchfork.  The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  satan is in the midst of us and we need to remember that.  From there we studied satan's work amoung the unsaved, and satan's work amoung Christians.  Then my favorite part:

How do I deal with the Devil?

Step 1  Satan is a Defeated Foe?  Hebrews 2:14, John 16:11

Step 2  You are on the winning side.  1 John 4:4

Step 3 Put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:10-18

Step 4Don't give the devil an inch. Ephesians 4:27

Step 5 Be always on alert. 2 Corinthians 2:11

Step 6 Nevewr retreat, always resist.  

Remember satan has many counterfeits.  Even churches Remember Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.  If you are not going to a good Indipendant, Fundimental, Conservative BAPTIST Church that uses only the KJV and preaches the word without appology then you have been decieved by satan. 

And always remember that when satan reminds you of your past remind him of this future.
