Love my Local Church!

I just want to start this post by saying God is so good!  I don't deserve the things he gives me.  My family, my church family, to be His child, but he blesses me.  I'm so thankful for His blessings.
The title of this post is;  I Love my Local Church.  I say that because it is true.  God has allowed me to be apart of an amazing Church of amazing people.  As you know I am praying about timing and Gods plan for our life.  I am looking forward to the days of Waterville but don't look forward to leaving BBC.  I have learned so much in my time at BBC.  God has done great things in our life while serving there.  God has shown us that people will come and sadly people will go but He is faithful.  The devil does not attack what God is not in.  He attacks God's Local Church by attacking the families that make up that church.  The devil may win a victory here and there but God wins everything in the end.  I'm just glad to be apart of what God is doing.  I praise the Lord for the time and opportunity to serve him along with my brother.
My Pastor  is my brother.  How God has blessed me with a godly family.  I love my preacher.  I love his stand on the WORD.  He has a heart for the LORD and I have learned much from him.  I couldn't ask for a better man of god to serve under.  I know God has huge plans for BBC this year.  I am looking forward to vision night this Sunday.
We had a discouraging end of the year but how God is so encouraging.  I am reminded not to put my trust in man but in Christ.  God brought out 6 visitors to our candle light service.  We had hands go up for salvation and I know the Spirit was working on others.  God has great plans for BBC's outreach this year.  I really believe he is going to use us greatly in reaching our community.  A couple of pictures from our candle light service below.
Our Pastor is heading to Oklahoma in a few weeks to the church planters confrence.  We are praying that God would work in the heart of preachers as well as churches.  He is going there to raise money for our building.  Please pray as he and his wife are traveling and I will be filling the pulpit.  Also pray for God to do something great there.
God is so good.  He sure doesn't need me but I am so glad he wants me!
Hold the fort my brothers and stand firm on the things of God.

Christmas time

This year we gave decided to have a differant Christmas.  We will have no tree or presents for each other.  Our goal is to seperate our selves from the traditions of the world.  When you seperate your self from something you seperate to something.  We are seperating our selves to Christ.  After all that is what we are celebrating.  We don't want Christmas  to be about us at all but about Him.  Our Saviour needs to be so precious to us.
Hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas season.

The Need

Yesterday my family and I went to Waterville. My heart breaks for the people in this city. Just driving around looking at the people, and city, and the churches that currently reside. I have so much enjoyed my time at both Church Hill Baptist Church and now at Bible Baptist Church but I am looking forward to how God is going to use us in Waterville. Please be praying with us about God's timing. We feel very confident we are sure of Gods plan but we do not want to interfere. We want Gods will for our life. We sure do appreciate your prayers. Some pictures of our trip.
A Picture of First baptist church in Waterville. This church was once greatly used of God. It played a role in starting Colby College which once was a College dedicated to training Baptist preachers for the ministry. Now an American Baptist Church.

Colby College was once a place where Baptist preachers where trained. Sadly today it is a liberal arts college. Full of drunkenness and worldliness.

Colby College a place of over 6000 souls.

Thomas College a school of just under 1000 souls.

Broken hearted over Waterville's mega church. No Gospel message is given and people are lead astray. Unfortunately there are hundreds of people that attend their only service each week, Sunday Morning.  How fitting, they meet in the old movie cinema.  Still entertaining.  I'm not mocking... it's just sad.

The Universal Unitarian church in Waterville. Notice the rainbow flag on the front of the church. No Gospel message and the people are lead astray.

One of the two Catholic churches in Waterville.  No Gospel message and leading people astray.

There is over 16,000 souls in Waterville and they have no Gospel.  How shall they hear without a Preacher?  Pray for us as we pray for God's timing and direction to bring this great city the Gospel.

Great Book!

I have started reading the book, The Fingerprint of GOD. So far it has been excellent. It is written by brother Andrew Ray. I had the opportunity to meet brother Ray on the Maine baptist history tour this past spring. He is a godly man and God used him greatly in publishing this book. If you have never read this book,I highly recommend it. It is full of Bible which us my favorite part. It not his opinions but what the bible says. Again I highly recommend it to anyone, new Christians to the older saints. You will truly be blessed.

It's been to long!

I've allowed the business of life to keep me from my blog for to long.  If there is anyone who still looks at and reads my blog I will do my best to keep updating on a regular basis.
God is so good.   He just continues to bless at our home and our church.  I am still teaching Sunday school and we are currently studying the topic of revival and taking the study through the book of Habakkuk.  It's been good.  I also continue to get chances to preach which I have very much enjoyed.  My last message was on God giving us the victory over sins in our life.  We read from the story of David and Goliath.   God continues to bless and he has just been so good to us.
I plan on continuing my post on Baptist History and plan on doing some more information on the city of Waterville.  It's hard to think of leaving Bible Baptist Church but I am excited what God has planned for us in Waterville.  Please continue to pray for us as we seek God's direction.

Baptist Distinctives!!

I am Baptist by conviction. I am unashamedly a Baptist. I believe that the church that Jesus build was indeed a Baptist church. We have the same identifying marks of that first century church. Here is a list of seven of those marks. Later I will discuss in detail each one. If you disagree that is ok. We can agree to disagree. After all I is Individual Soul Liberty.

B Biblical Authority
A Autonomy of the Local Church
P Priesthood of the Believers
T Two Ordinances of the Church (believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper)
I Individual Soul Liberty
S Separation of Church and State
T Two Offices of the Church (pastor and deacon)

Hold the Fort my Brothers and stay true true to the things of God.

I'm Back

Hard to believe it has been a month since my last post. My wife and I thought since we had internet on our phones that we could save some money by not having it on our computer. It worked out great we did save money. However it is way to hard to blog on a 4 inch screen from my phone so I just haven't. We got the internet back yesterday so I will again be blogging on a regular basis. It's good to be back. I will continue as I said I would and do a series of post on Baptist Distinctives.
